Jim Galloway was born to farm AND MARKET FARM MACHINERY, and he never really stopped. From boyhood in Clinton County, Michigan, he learned the land’s rhythms — plant, sweat, harvest, repair — and built his whole life around them.

But Jim’s real gift was for FARM machinery. That gift became Galloway Sales. his equipment business in St. Johns, where farmers came from towns and counties away, knowing that if Jim said a piece of equipment was solid, it was solid.

His true passion, though, was the live auction. Jim chased sales all over the Midwest — MICHIGAN, Ohio, Indiana, Illinois— drawn by the chant of the auctioneer, the tension of a bidding war, and the handshake deals that still meant something out there. He had an eye for value nobody could match and a love for the AUCTIONS even greater than the love of the deal.

Away from the fields, Jim LOVED classic cars, FIREARMS & TRACTORS When winter buried the fields in snow, he traded tractors for a snowmobile and carved trails across the same ground he farmed all summer. And come Sunday, you’d find him planted in front of the TV, hollering through the final laps of a NASCAR race.

Jim Galloway was a farmer, a dealmaker, a MARKETEER & AUCTIONEER  of FARM MACHINERY, and a lover of speed in every form. St. Johns was lucky to call him one of its own.
